The flight was quick - just two and a quarter hours. Some lovely views of Northern Portugal, Spain, France (Nantes), before landing on time at Luton and some cooler but dry weather. Got an SMS from Paul (Nelson) to say he would be in London tomorrow. Arranged coffee at Marble Arch. Took the express coach to Regent Street Underground, and the jumped on the Underground to Paddington. Nearly lost Teia, who bolted for the train as we were struggling with the bags. She got caught in the doors as the train was about to leave. We managed with the help of other passengers to get her on board, but had visions of her stranded alone on the platform as we took off with the train. Not a pleasant thought. Dragged our bags through Paddington station and the short block to our accommodation - The St. Davis%u2019d Hotel.Think a ship%u2019s cabin on %u2018D%u2019 deck and you%u2019ll get the picture %u2013 very small. Not unexpected for London of course. The location is good though, in a quiet block overlooking a nice park like that seen in the movie Notting Hill, and with lots of good pubs and shops just around the corner. Had a late fish, chips and mushy peas, and a chicken BLT, backed up with a refreshing welcome pint of lager at a pub called the Sawyers Arms. Louise and Teia went back to the hotel, while Steve went for a short walk and a stop at the internet cafe to bring the blog right up to date.
