Friday 29th September - LondonOvercast, rain, sun, warm, overcast, rain, cold, warm.Basically all four seasons today. Sadly, the last day of our trip before the flight tonight. Checked out of the hotel after storing our bags. We got a %u2018kids%u2019 discount on our accommodation, thanks to Teia smiling at the owner. Walked along Bayswater Road at the side of Hyde park to Notting Hill. Spent a great morning in Portobello Road looking at all the unique and eccentric shops packed with objets d%u2019art and antiques. Pondered over all the street stalls housing cheesemongers, fishmongers, fruit and vegetable sellers, flower sellers, and souvenir sellers. It started to rain so we ducked into a Spanish Cafe for a nice coffee and Spanish hot chocolate and pastries. The skies cleared just as quickly, the sun shone, so it was back out for more browsing. Went to a local pub for a nice lunch of mussels, sandwich and chips. With wine and beer of course. More wandering, then took a tube to Regent%u2019s Park for a walk along the lake and a last chance for Teia to see squirrels. Played with the swans and pigeons, and on the good playground. The rain started again, so we took cover under a tree until it cleared. Walked to the Great Portland Street Underground station for the quick trip back to Paddington Station and the last of our internet time at the local cafe, and the collection of our bags. Next stop Heathrow, Singapore, Sydney and home to mow the lawn. A terrific trip in every way, packed with memories and with wonderful hospitality from our family across the globe. Thanks to all of you who made our stay so special.
