They will be getting a Google review but it will be nothing like last night's.Steve got some food therapy by getting some nice pastries from a lovely Patisserie nearby. We managed to order drinks. Steve had Asturian cider, the traditional drink of the region. He enjoyed a glass in the local style, poured from a bottle held high over the head into a glass at the knee to produce natural carbonation. So far, so good.Day 28 - Sunday 05/10/2025 - Cudillero to Oviedo (Continued)Steve went for a walk to check out our neighbourhood. Being a Sunday not much is open. We decided to try the famous cider street Calle de la Gascona for dinner. The size of Darby Street, our 'eat street 'at home, it was lined with msny lively sidrer%u00edas (cider houses). However our first experience was a dud. We chose Sidrer%u00eda Tierra Astur, at Calle de la Gascona 1, near the giant cider vat.We picked what we wanted to eat, then waited and waited. We could not catch anyone's eye as they would not look at you. Weknow Spanish service is very relaxed but this was ridiculous. Finally we had to just about tackle a girl down. It took over half an hour to get the waiters attention to order. Only to find most of the dishes on the menu were not available. We had to drag it out of her what was available. Turns out only about half the menu was available but they did not tell us that when we sat down. By the time we finally ordered we had been there for over 40 minutes. Another half hour for Louise to get her (bland) dish. But there was still no sign of Steve's and again we could not get anyone's attention. We'd show you a photo of Steve's meal but it finally turned up another half hour after that, just as we got up to leave. Steve refused to accept it. To their credit they took it off the bill and didn't charge for Louise's wine.
